Another Place is not “just another refugee story.”
It’s an intimate, character-driven look at the life that happens after migration—told through the voice and perspective of a former refugee from Iran.
The film explores grief and separation,
isolation, mental health,
and the everyday realities of rebuilding identity
and belonging in a new country.
I was honored to serve as Executive Producer on this nearly four-year project with filmmaker Jhizet Panosian. The film follows three protagonists who fled war and persecution and are now resettling across Europe—in Denmark, Germany, and Belgium—revealing the unseen cost of survival and the quiet courage of starting over.
Another Place has been selected by six international festivals, including the London International Film Festival, the Greek International Film Festival of Toronto, UNHCR Refugee Film Festival (Japan – streaming), Documentaries Without Borders, and the Mediterranean Film Festival.
